Dedukuh Guest House in Kuta

A peaceful home in the heart of Kuta, where connection and local life come together

Student Accomodation in Kuta, Bali Base Living

Dedukuh Guesthouse in Kuta is where the story of Bali Base Living began. This guesthouse is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and the supportive staff who are always there for you.

The guesthouse is located on Jl. Majapahit, in a quiet side street with a dead end. This means you’re not staying on a busy road, but instead in a peaceful spot right in the middle of lively Kuta.

For local food, this is a perfect location. Just behind Jl. Majapahit, you’ll find Mataram Food Court, a street full of local warungs where you can enjoy delicious meals for a very affordable price. Think of dishes like nasi goreng for around €1.50. In general, living in Kuta is also more affordable compared to Canggu.

Canggu is still easily accessible. During the day, it takes about 30 to 40 minutes by scooter or GoJek due to traffic, while in the evening it can be as quick as 15 to 20 minutes.

At Dedukuh, you’ll be welcomed by Ketut, the guesthouse manager. He can help you with many practical things, such as arranging a local SIM card, renting a scooter, or booking boat tickets to the Gili Islands.

But Ketut is more than just a manager. He is deeply connected within the local community and has a wide network. He loves sharing stories about Bali, how it used to be, and how the culture has evolved over time.

The guesthouse has a small shared kitchen, and at the reception you can buy water, soft drinks, and beer. Feeling a bit bored in your room? Grab a drink from Ketut and start a conversation — you’ll often end up listening to some of the most interesting stories about Bali.

What makes this place truly special is the feeling of home. Here, you don’t just meet other students, but also the people behind Bali.

Perfect for students looking for a warm, social and affordable home base with a genuine Balinese connection.

Pricing

At Bali Base Living, we work exclusively with local Balinese guesthouse owners. This means that your rent is paid directly to Indonesia, and therefore all prices are listed in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).

Each guesthouse owner determines their own rental price. We do not negotiate on these prices, as we believe in fair and respectful collaboration with local entrepreneurs. On top of the local rental price, we add a commission for our service and support.

Because of this, our prices are influenced by the exchange rate between the Indonesian Rupiah and the Euro. At the moment, the Rupiah is relatively favorable compared to the Euro, which makes staying in Bali more affordable. However, exchange rates can change over time, which may affect the final price in Euros.

To give you a clear and up-to-date overview, you can check the current exchange rate in the Currency Converter and see what your monthly rent will approximately be in Euros.
